Flamberge is actually the name of a fire sword, though she is not based off of a Flamberge.
Flamberge is based on the Japanese sword, Hotarumaru. Her name in the Japanese version is also Hotarumaru. Why this was changed in the English translation is unknown.
Underneath her kimono, she wears a Japanese girl's school uniform.
